The Township has a Dropbox located in the parking lot across from the building under the lamppost. This is picked up frequently. Please do not drop cash in the Dropbox.
The Township will provide a mailed receipt to each property owner when your mortgage pays your taxes or when you mail your tax payment. No self-addressed stamped envelope is needed.
Please keep in mind postmarks are not accepted as a payment date.
Payment must be in our office before close of business on Sept. 14th to avoid any interest, and on the last day of February to avoid becoming delinquent.
Please allow 3-5 days for delivery if paying by mail. For your convenience we have a dropbox in our parking lot if you choose to leave your payment during non-tax collection hours.
If you currently escrow your tax payment, you need to forward to your mortgage holder a copy of your tax bill. Eaton Township only mails the tax bills to property owners.
State law requires the Township collect current property taxes through February 28th or the last day of February, the year after they are due (i.e. until February 2020 for 2019 property taxes.) If taxes are still delinquent by then, the Township turns them over to the County Treasurer and can no longer accept payments toward past years.
Any payments past due must be paid to the County Treasurer 543-4262
