and most responsive to the wishes of the people.

Eaton Township is a General Law township.  Township government is conducted by a township board consisting of five members- a supervisor, clerk, treasurer, and two trustees. Michigan townships, provide services tailored to meet the needs of their residents.

                                      Township Candidates Nominating Petitions

Last day to file Nominating Petitions, Affidavit of Identity, and the Pronunciation form will be Tuesday, April 23,2024 by 4:00p.m in the Township Clerks office. Withdrawal deadline elapses at 5:00p.m. on April 26.

Signature requirements for your petitions are based on population. Township Candidates may file a refundable $100.00 in lieu of filing petitions. The filing fee will be refunded if the candidate receives nomination to the office or places second in the race.

The Campaign Finance “Statement of Organization” form will also be due and is filed in the County Clerk’s office. If you do not select the waiver and plan on spending more than $1,000 you will need to get a copy of the instructions and forms which are available online on the Secretary of State website at www.michigan.gov/sos, or in the county Clerk’s office.

Primary Election: August 6, 2024

General Election: November5,2024
